Description

Lessons take place at the beach recognized as the birthplace of European surfing in 1957. Suitable for individuals aged 7 to 97 who know how to swim, lessons are conducted in French, English, or Spanish. All sessions occur at low tide for safety, led by instructors certified by the French Surfing Federation and Handi Surf.

Meet at the Lagoondy bungalow facing the beach, where lockers are available to store belongings. All surf equipment and wetsuits are provided, matched to your size and seasonal water temperature.

The 1.5-hour discovery session introduces you to surfing in complete safety, with up to six students per instructor who is in the water to assist your progress. It includes on-beach theory, safety briefings, and practical training on the sandbar where standing is possible. Key Level 1 skills covered are:

• Putting on wetsuit and leash
• Catching a wave while lying on the board
• Standing and maintaining balance on the board
• Following safety protocols in currents
• Observing instructor and reference points

The Mini Course consists of three 1.5-hour lessons to reinforce surfing fundamentals, which may be booked consecutively or spread over a week. Level 2 skills include:

• Quickly standing up on the board
• Maintaining balance while turning left or right
• Protecting your head during falls
• Body surfing and wave catching
• Effective paddling and mastering take-off
• Maintaining balance at the wave bottom
